Kate Gosselin: New Book Reveals Mom's Controversial Discipline Tactics on Kids

Although Kate Gosselin's parenting approach has been in the public eye for quite some time, shocking details regarding her disciplinary methods are now set to be revealed in a new book authored by a close friend of ex-husband Jon Gosselin.  In the controversial read, author Robert Hoffman states that Kate would supposedly subject her children to severe acts of punishment that included hitting them with a wooden spoon she nicknamed The Spanker.

According to Radar Online, Hoffman claims that the cooking tool in the mother of eight's home would serve other purposes.

"She uses that Spanker on a daily basis for anything and everything.  The spanking entries are endless."

Hoffman allegedly discovered secret journals that the 37-year-old had used to write her books "Multiple Bles8ings" and "Eight Little Faces."  He stated that the detailed notes regarding her tactics also included pulling her children's hair and disciplining them for climbing out of their crib and not quickly adjusting to potty training.

"I don't judge somebody for spanking, but what Kate wrote in her journal is just absolute violence," Hoffman said, according to RadarOnline.

The author also touched on one of the journal entries from the reality star.  During the circumstance, three of the children reportedly took M & Ms without Kate's approval.  Hoffman claims that Kate responded by writing, "I really, really lost it!  I pulled Collin up by the hair, and I spanked them so hard!"

According to the Small Town Gosselins blog on June 24th, the friendship between Kate's now ex-husband Jon and Hoffman did not come to fruition overnight.

"Robert Hoffman and Jon Gosselin eventually became friends, or, in my opinion, Robert ingratiated himself to Jon.  Jon gradually included Robert in his social, inviting him inside the fence, including him in dinners and on trips such as the one to Las Vegas for the Wet Republic pool party."

Further details surrounding Kate's parental tactics are revealed in the latest edition of Star Magazine, which hit news stands on Sept. 27.
