Even the writers aren't happy about the death that's coming up on The Originals this season.

Are 'Extraordinary' Things Ahead On 'The Originals'? 

While creatlor Julie Plec isn't one to give too many spoilers, on Wednesday she posted a statement on Twitter announcing that they are about to kill someone off the series that they "really" didn't want to kill.

Hayley & Klaus Hooking Up On 'The Originals'? 

Considering the fact that the program has already killed off Kol (Daniel Sharman), there aren't too many supporting characters left to murder. It's possible Plec is referring to new series regular Yusuf Gatewood, who plays Finn and Vincent, or Nathan Parsons, who has wooed fans as Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) loyal husband.

Most likely, however, would be that the show has killed off Josh's boyfriend, Aiden (Colin Woodell), who in terms of seniority hasn't been around very long.

Of course, there is always the possibility that The Originals has actually killed off Josh (Steven Krueger) himself. It would certainly be a decision that would upset Plec and her writers. After all, Josh had been written as an expendable character for season 1 before becoming so beloved by all that the writers refused to kill him off.

So is Josh the one on his way out? And how will that impact fans?

The Originals continues on The CW with its second season Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
