It was a fairy tale brought to life for the enchanted Anne Hathaway and her long time love of her life.

On Saturday night, the 29-year-old actress got married to Adam Shulman, an actor and jewelry designer. The ceremony took place at a private estate at Big Sur on the coast of California, reported People.

Hathaway, star of Ella Enchanted, wore a custom made Valentino gown for the event described as having a nature theme with branches and leaves used for decoration.

Over a 100 close friends and family attended the Saturday wedding with a rehearsal dinner at the Ventana Inn and Spa the night before.

The couple has been in love for a while as the two started dating four years ago and have been engaged since last November.

"I am very much in love with him, (only) Adam totally ruined my plan," Hathaway said of their relationship last year. "I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!"

The couple has tried to remain out of the lime light since their relationship began. While promoting her film One Day, Hathaway talked about her lifestyle with USA Today: "We have house parties and dinner parties and just hang out," Hathaway said. "I'm so delighted by (Adam). He's all the things you want a partner to be."

So what are the couple's plans for their future together?

"I'd like to have kids in 10 years," she said while promoting The Dark Knight Rises in June. "I don't know about five, but 10."

The actress will be appearing in the upcoming movie adaptation of the hit musical Les Miserables in theaters December 25.
