Tom Selleck revealed some details on the emotional impact that Blue Bloods is about to face in the next episode.

On Friday, TV Line posted an interview with the actor who mentioned how his character will have a tough time dealing with the killer who murdered a family with one girl left alive.

"For cops, there's always cases that haunt them," Selleck said. "And in this one, he couldn't prevent a mother and father and five-year-old boy from being killed."

The site mentioned that the story will continue with sole survivor Sarah who receives a letter from the killer asking her to meet so she can receive an apology. This led to Sarah confiding in Frank (Selleck) who would not be the same person he is when he's out of the public eye.

"Frank's attitude to the [restorative justice] program is very interesting because he has a personal stake," the actor said. "It's always interesting playing Frank because what he would say at a press conference is not what he would say in private. He had feelings and opinions about this that probably are not things he could say publicly."

It doesn't seem too likely that Sarah will be at a place where she would be willing to forgive the person who murdered her family and relieve any guilt, but only time will tell at this point.

Blue Bloods airs on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
