Things are about to get pretty messy in the music industry. After Marvin Gaye's family successfully sued Robin Thicke and music producer Pharrell Williams for copyright infringement over their 2013 hit Blurred Lines it looks as though everyone is taking a really close look at possible cases of plagiarism in the music world. Over the weekend, producer Jermaine Dupri accused chart topper Ciara and her team for possibly lifting chords from Usher's hit U Got It Bad with her latest single, I Bet.

According to MTV News, Dupri recently opened up about the music industry's latest song infringement ordeal in an interview and used Ciara's latest song as an example.

He said, "Ciara's new single is a complete rip-off of Usher's 'U Got It Bad.' I'm clear on what I made and I'm clear on how music influences people and I'm clear on chord changes and how people move things," Dupri said. "It might not be as evident as the 'Blurred Lines' situation, but I believe the same thing happened to me."

If that weren't enough, Dupri added that he will be contacting Ciara's music team soon so they can work out the situation in hopes that he will "get credit where credit is due."

While the news is making rounds in the media and gossip blogs, Ciara has stayed relatively quiet about the accusations. The single mother is currently filming her NBC reality show, I Can Do That Too, while promoting her latest single to her fans on her Twitter and Instagram accounts. So far, it looks like she is going to let her team of lawyers do the talking for her.
