‘Awkward’ Season 5 Spoilers: Palos Hills Students Channeling ‘Grease’ With Post-Graduation Carnival? [PHOTOS]
Fans of MTV's Awkward have to prepare to say goodbye to the show which will be wrapping up its run after its upcoming fifth season, but the cast may be assuring them that the countdown to goodbye will be a fun one.
The cast has been actively posting photos from filming on their Instagram accounts, and it appears that in addition to normal senior year rites of passage like prom and graduation, the Palos Hills gang will get to have one other huge event to look forward to-a post-graduation carnival.
Ashley Rickards (Jenna), Jillian Rose Reed (Tamara), Molly Tarlov (Sadie), Greer Grammer (Lissa) and Brett Davern (Jake) have also posted photos and videos on their accounts, and it seems like they're going to be having lots of fun at a carnival during the season-and if it is in fact a post-graduation one, then they may be channeling Grease in the process.
Tarlov actually confirmed that the show was channeling the film with an Instagram post showing a part of their carnival set next to an image of Olivia Newton John's Sandy Olson at her very own carnival.

"You guys, when I watched Grease at 6 years old I never thought I'd be filming at my very own high school graduation carnival. #stayinschool #youretheonethatiwant #ripme," she captioned the photo. She also shared a fun photo of herself and Grammer on the Ferris Wheel.

Grammer meanwhile shared a video showing herself and Davern on the crazy slides, while both he and Reed shared the same photo of themselves posing in front of that and The Zipper.

Rickards meanwhile, posted a hilarious photo of herself pretending to shoot and play a game at the event.

Missing from the Carnival fun appears to be Beau Mirschoff (Matty)-but if the cast is truly channeling the iconic movie musical, than he may have just been in hiding. If the cast is repeating history, then maybe the Matty and Jenna reunion fans have been waiting for could happen before the show comes to a close.
Awkward season 5 has not received an official premiere date.
