Will Kristin Scott Thomas live up to the Queen's legacy?

The Mystery Of Kate Middleton's Royal Due Date Has (Kind Of) Been Solved?

The actress may have the hardest job in London as she takes the stage in the upcoming play The Audience. She has to give a major performance of a major woman in history.

Thomas will be playing Queen Elizabeth in the show and so she went to Buckingham Palace where the two came face-to-face. Getting up-close-and-personal with the Queen may seem intimidating, but it sounds like Scott pulled it off.

Thomas was being made a dame, the female equivalent of a knight, for the service to drama, according to CBC News.

And apparently when the actress met the Queen, she asked what her next job was.

"[The Queen asked me] what I was doing next, so I had to tell her and she said it would be quite a challenge," Scott said of her visit to Buckingham Palace.

The Audience is going to chart the queen's relationship with successive prime ministers over her six-decade reign, according to the online publication.

In a Broadway production of the play, Scott Thomas follows Helen Mirren who originated the role.

The Broadway reproduction is directed by Stephen Daldry and centers on confidential weekly meetings held at the Palace held between the Queen and the British prime ministers who served during her rule.

Mirren accepted the role as the Queen and it previewed in February 2013 in London's West End.
