Filming an action movie can be dangerous work as Robert Downey Jr. found out on the set of the latest Iron Man movie.

Production on "Iron Man 3" was halted for a month and a half after Downey Jr. was hurt doing a stunt. The injury that took place on Aug. 16 affected the actor's ankle and now after weeks of rest he's back on the set, according to Downey's representative.

On Tuesday, Screen Rant reported: "The incident took place while Iron Man 3 was shooting in North Carolina and yesterday production moved to Miami, Florida, shooting scenes at Dania Beach."

Downey Jr., who plays billionaire Tony Stark as Iron Man, went back to the Miami set, which has made a replica of locations in Malibu, California such as Neptune's Net, a seafood restaurant. Images show Iron Man with another character which is most likely Don Cheadle who plays Rhodey, but in his mechanized suit he's known as War Machine. The image shows Iron Man's new suit as well as someone in a red, white and blue suit of armor that looks close to what the character Iron Patriot wears in the comics.

The brief halt will not affect the release of the latest film in the "Avengers" franchise. While a month and half may seem like a long time for a break, other roles of production such as special effects were able to continue while Robert Downey Jr. was healing from the stunt.

Director Shane Black is trying to keep his schedule moving even with these delays which can be expected from an action movie of this caliber.

"Iron Man 3" is still scheduled to hit theaters in May 2013 and slated to kick off the summer as the blockbuster to beat.
