The Voice's fifth installment of Christina Retrospective was uploaded to the TV show's YouTube channel Friday and the powerful vocalist discusses when she knew becoming a singer was her calling.

What Is Christina Aguilera's Favorite Lyric Of Her Own?

Christina Aguilera has been belting out songs since she was a young girl so it's surprising to learn she didn't have a striking moment when she knew she wanted to become a singer.

"There was really no exact moment for when I wanted to I guess officially become a singer," she shared, adding, "I feel like I was sort of-I came out of the womb that way."

In the video, which is below, Aguilera dished that music has always been connected to her.

"A deep-rooted connection and love for," she revealed, adding, "I remember hearing The Sound of Music and seeing that for the first time and watching Julie Andrews just kind of twirl so open and freely through all the green grass and the mountains and it was such a beautiful, inspiring movie to me at 5/6 year's old and from that moment on it sort of became like a best friend to me."

Aguilera shared she "wanted to feel as free and open" as Andrews "looked and sounded" in the movie musical.

The Voice coach credits The Sound of Music as her "introduction into loving music."

"It [music] became my escape," Aguilera stated, adding, "And sort of this home for me. At the time it was an escape from my own reality and sort of a chaotic household so it was a beautiful love at first sight thing for me I guess."

"It's just always in me. I couldn't imagine doing anything else," Aguilera concluded.

Tune in on Mondays and Tuesdays starting at 8 p.m. ET for Season 8 of The Voice on NBC.
