The return of some of Salem's favorite faces has officially begun ahead of the 50th anniversary of Days of Our Lives.

According to Soap Opera Digest, two of the first official returns of former cast members have been confirmed, with both Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) and Stephen Nichols (Steve 'Patch' Johnson) set to make appearances later this year, before the soap officially celebrates its 50th anniversary on November 8.

Nichols was last spotted in Salem back in 2009, while Reckells left in 2012.

They aren't the only actors confirmed to be making guest appearances for the 20th anniversary celebration however, Nadia Bjorlin, who portrayed Chloe, was also confirmed to be making an appearance for a few episodes, though it is unclear if her return is set to coincide with other returns for the big celebration.

Still unknown is whether or not Allison Sweeney would bring her iconic character of Sami Brady-DiMera back to Salem for the anniversary as well. Sami left Salem behind in October 2014 after producers asked her to go to Hollywood so they could make a movie about her life. Following what was also the death of her husband, EJ (James Scott), who was shot, Sami chose to leave the city she had been living in for as long as she could remember behind.

Back when she first left the soap, Sweeney did say she would be interested in returning for the 50th anniversary however, so signs are positive that she could eventually reach a deal to return.

"Are you kidding? Days celebrates its 50th anniversary next year. No way am I missing that!" she said at the time.
