Game of Thrones fans will be facing spoilers left and right as the television series continues strong on HBO this spring.

For a while now series creators Dan Weiss and David Benioff have known that the program is reaching a very dangerous point. The series, which will enter its fifth season in April, is about to pass the book series on which it is based.

George R.R. Martin is still working on The Winds Of Winter, which will be the sixth book in the series. Martin has never been known to rush his work for anyone, and that includes his televised counterparts.

So will the HBO fantasy drama start guessing at the GOT future? Do show runners have a clue as to where they are going? Most certainly.

In developing a series like Game of Thrones, Weiss and Benioff have had to be very thorough in their approach.

"Luckily, we've been talking about this with George for a long time…" explained Benoiff to Vanity Fair at the Oxford Union this month. "And we know where things are heading."

"We'll eventually, basically, meet up at pretty much the same place where George is going," he continued. "There might be a few deviations along the route, but we're heading towards the same destination."

Unfortunately for all parties involved, this means revealing some of the book's major events before The Winds of Winter is even released.

"I kind of wish that there were some things we didn't have to spoil," admitted Benoiff, "But we're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. The show must go on…and that's what we're going to do."

Game of Thrones will return on HBO for a fifth season on Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
