ACM's 2014 Best New Artist Justin Moore can't say enough about friend and fellow country singer Miranda Lambert.

It Looks Like Miranda Lambert Is Stealing Her Husband's Protégé

It might have taken him a little longer to break into the business, but Moore and Lambert actually started out in country music around the same time. They became friends while touring while Brad Paisley and even teamed up for Moore's 2013 duet Old Habits.

"She and I hung out and drank beer and became buddies," said Moore during an interview with Press Of Atlantic City on Monday.

"She and I grew up in the same way and in the same part of the country," he continued. "At the time, we had the same ideals of what country music is all about and, more importantly, the same ideals about what life is about."

Although their careers have both evolved over the last decade, Moore still only has great things to say about the "Automatic" singer.

"It's been a good relationship…" he insisted. "I have a lot of respect for her as an artist, and have more respect for her as an individual."

"Blake is not a bad guy, either," added Moore of Lambert's husband, country artist Blake Shelton.

Moore identifies with the way Lambert has kept close ties with country music, sticking to a "traditional" sound which isn't always easy to come by.

"We are two of the artists out there today who are playing as traditional country music as you can get by with these days," explained Moore. "We have both at least attempted to stay true to traditional country music."
