Mamoa will play the leading character in the film, an individual named Miami Man who has a very particular relationship with his food. Reeves is set to play The Dream, with Carrey as The Hermit. All three stars have had middling box office success over the last year, though Amipour's signature style might just land them a hit with this one.

Amirpour, who won a Gotham Award for the 2014 Iranian vampire hit A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, is will also write the script for The Bad Batch.

Based on her creativity and originality, Amipour has proven that fans can expect a fair share of genre blending on this next project.

Production is set to begin in Los Angeles in April.

The Bad Batch is expected to debut at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
