Alana Bloom will return to Hannibal a changed woman.

'Hannibal' Season 3 Premiere Jam Packed With Time Jumps, Bryan Fuller Teases 'Antipasto'

The season 2 finale dealt some major blows to the FBI psychiatrist - the least of which involved her taking a little tumble out Dr. Lecter's (Mads Mikkelsen) second floor window. Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas) didn't pick up on Hannibal's cannibalistic nature until late in the game, and her failure will leave her questioning her own instincts -and the capabilities of the FBI - when season 3 premieres.

"I think Alana will be completely changed in season 3 with everything that happened, and I think she's going to start working very differently," Dhavernas told Seat 42F at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con. "I mean, that's my feeling, I don't know what Bryan feels or what he's writing right now, but logically, for me, she would probably say to her self, 'I can't follow my instinct anymore. I can't go by the rules anymore because obviously the FBI is not solid enough or wise enough to prevent everything that happened. So she's probably going to go cowboy style, do her own thing now."

What Is Francis Dolarhyde Up To On 'Hannibal'? Bryan Fuller Teases Final Episodes

When Bloom will renter the story, however, is unknown. Series creator Bryan Fuller previously teased that it would be several episodes before viewers really find out what happened to Hannibal's "Mizumono" victims, which means Bloom could be MIA for early episodes. However, the premiere will jump through four different time periods, perhaps using one of those stops to check in on Bloom, Jack (Laurence Fishburne), and Will (Hugh Dancy).
