The MTV series dialed back the terror in favor of a more human-driven storyline for season 4, but some extra creepy supernatural baddies will be on the prowl once more in season 5.

"We're actually trying to go for a lot of scares this season. We love scaring the audience, we love being entertainers. It's something we work on," series creator Jeff Davis explained to Clevver. "This season is definitely a bit darker. It's a little more of an adult tone this season."

Described as "eerily human" by Holland Roden, the new monsters received the highest praise from actor Tyler Posey (Scott)

"We've always got new villains, new crazy villains, and the same goes for this season. Stuff we haven't done ever before," Posey informed Clevver. "They're great, they're so cool, I love them. They're creepy as s-t, just very still, but they get their point across."
