Despite a very public split between Nick Cannon and his now estranged wife Mariah Carey, all is well between the two stars.

He spoke with People magazine recently to promote his newest book Neon Aliens Ate My Homework & Other Poems. He said that never ending love is still in play. In fact, that's what helps the two work together when it comes to raising their four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

"The way we've always structured our lives, my kid are always with me or their mother. We really don't miss a beat. I feel like we get to spend more time with our children than the average family."

While it was Cannon who pulled the plug on the marriage back in December, he said co-parenting has been a breeze. So he gave a few tips for other parents who might have to follow suit.

"Unconditional love. I was a product of that unorthodox family situation myself. Being raised by my grandmother, my mother, my father, kind of moved all over the country. One thing I would never change is my upbringing because it was all rooted in unconditional love."

While rumors of swirled of an unfriendly split between Cannon and Carey, Cannon has made it clear that they are still on amicable terms and have their children's best interest at heart. Since filing the papers, he has been linked to Hollywood Exes star Nicole Murphy. She was married to Eddie Murphy and recently broke off an engagement with NFL star turned television co-host Michael Strahan.
