After it was announced that Zayn Malik was leaving One Direction, a certain celebrity couple expressed their grief.

On Wednesday, popular YouTube stars Zoe Sugg and Alfie Deyes took to their Twitter pages to mention their disappointment over Malik leaving the popular boy band.

Sugg's post says, "WAIT WHAT?? Am I hearing this correctly? Zayn has quit One Direction? :("

Deyes later wrote, "I'm going to watch the 1D movie tonight."

It was announced on One Direction's Facebook page that Malik will be leaving the group to focus on matters in his life away from fame.

"My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined," Malik said. "But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologize to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight."

The band expressed their disappointment over losing a member although they are still supportive.

"We're really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our love for the future," the post reads. "The past five years have been beyond amazing, we've gone through so much together, so we will always be friends."
