Angelina Jolie Writes Op-Ed About Getting Her Ovaries Removed, 'It's Not Easy To Make These Decisions'

Actress Angelina Jolie revealed that she had her ovaries removed after finding early signs of cancer, and then wrote about it in The New York Times.

Jolie will now go into immediate menopause, and even though she revealed the hard parts of her decision, Kelly Osbourne is now saying she will take the same steps, according to ABC News.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Are NOT Heading Toward Divorce

Osbourne appeared on The Talk on Tuesday where she said, "I agree with this 100 percent. I know that one day I will eventually have to do it, too."

When speaking of her future children she said, "I want to be there to bring them up. I want to be there to support them in every way I can."

Osbourne, whose mom, Sharon, is a survivor of colon cancer, has seen how this disease impacts a person's life firsthand.

"I'm so lucky to have the mother I have, the brave mother I have that has taught me so much. ... I actually do have the cancer gene," Kelly added on Tuesday's show. "My mom made all of us get tested after she found out that she had it and got her double mastectomy."

Osbourne did not reveal when she would be having the surgery.

In her op-ed for the Times, Jolie revealed she only found out she would definitely need the procedure two weeks ago.

"Then two weeks ago I got a call from my doctor with blood-test results. 'Your CA-125 is normal,' he said. I breathed a sigh of relief...But that wasn't all. He went on. 'There are a number of inflammatory markers that are elevated, and taken together they could be a sign of early cancer.' I took a pause. 'CA-125 has a 50 to 75 percent chance of missing ovarian cancer at early stages,' he said. He wanted me to see the surgeon immediately to check my ovaries."
