Agents of SHIELD's Grant Ward is a slippery character.

The former agent has proved that in spades over the last season and a half, and his mysterious endgame with Agent 33 (Maya Stojan) and Bakshi (Simon Kassianides) is allowing Ward to play his cards close to his chest.

"It appears that, at the end of this episode, Ward might have two people looking up to him for direction or guidance," Dalton told Variety. "But what he decides to do with that is going to be the question for the next couple of episodes."

While Ward could easily use this position of authority and trust to manipulate Bakshi and 33, the actor claims Ward's intentions are good.

"He really hasn't, this season, actually told a lie. He's omitted, perhaps. Or he used certain words for certain things, but he is definitely telling the truth," Dalton told Variety. "I don't know if it's manipulation. I feel like it's coming from a good place. Obviously that's just my opinion on it, but I do feel like he's trying to help someone else on their journey and in that way he's kind of a mentor."

Do you think Ward is someone to be trusted, or is he merely manipulating those around him? Sound off in the poll below.
