The episode, titled 'Beyond Borders,' will star Gary Sinise, Anna Gunn and Tyler James Williams, who will be lead the spin-off. Sinise is playing Jack Garrett, the Unit Chief of the international unit of BAU, Anna Gunn will play Ally Lambert, probably another member of Garrett's team. Williams will play Monty, the team's tech analyst. In this episode the BAU from Criminal Minds will join the interantional unit to help crack a case in Barbados.

Speaking to TVGuide.com, Messer gave away some more interesting details about the plot.

Will Criminal Minds Drop Actor Playing Kevin Lynch?

"We find out that this unsub eluded Jack's team two years ago. He killed a family in Aruba and it [haunts] Jack that they weren't able to catch him," Messer said. "Last year, he got away from the BAU when he killed a family in Florida and now this year, he's striking in Barbados, and we're gonna get these two teams together to finally catch this guy."

She also addressed a very interesting bit about a possible rivalry between the new International unit and the originals from the BAU, featuring David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) and Jennifer Jareau (AJ Cook) and Kate Callahan (Jennifer Love Hewitt).

"They all are very aware of one another. There's no, 'Who's that?' 'Can we really work together?' or 'Why are we doing this with you?'" Messer said. "They're all the best at their jobs. We go all over the country. These guys go all over the world. There's a familiarity between all of them, but they never get a chance to work together until now."

'Beyond Borders' will air on CBS on April 8.
