While Phaedra Parks of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been rumored to be a part of the fraud scandal that landed her husband Apollo Nida in jail, she wonders if he was scamming her as well.

In a previous episode Parks, who works as a lawyer herself, went to see a divorce lawyer and special friend about officially ending her and Nida's marriage. He was sentenced to eight years after he pleaded guilty to a swindle that included laundering more than $2 million.

Considering this isn't Nida's first time in jail for similar charges (he served time from 2004 to 2009 just before he and Parks got married), the lawyer asked Parks why she married him to begin with, especially with awareness of his criminal past.

"I chose to believe him, but maybe he was conning me the whole time...A lot of people question my choice in marrying Apollo, but I married him because I thought he was a changed man. I married him because I knew that he loved me. Some people do change their lives and make a difference and I thought he was that person. Obviously he wasn't. I stood with him when people said I shouldn't...I loved him."

She added that her split with Nida is a little different from others considering he drug her through the mud in the media and other actions before he checked into jail. She said it nearly drove her crazy. But now she's stuck with the mess he made.
