After giving several details lately, the Jessie star has spoken to MTV News about the guy she knew. As it turns out, she didn't seem to find the relationship with this person (who still remains anonymous) as anything more than friendship.

"It was a working relationship as well as a good friendship with a person I had known for several years," Ryan told the site, posted on Wednesday. "The nature of this relationship to me was at no point romantic or sexual."

The actress then added some details on the insecurities that this person had, which led to a number of dangerous situations. According to Ryan, this guy had "a manipulation" and "a need for control."

"He tried to get involved in every aspect of my public life, my personal life, my friendship, my family, my work life," Ryan explained. "Ultimately I realized there was something wrong with the situation. As our relationship continued he would cry, threaten to commit suicide, and it started to become physical- he would grab me, pulling me back into rooms if I tried to leave."

The Disney star pointed out how one does not need to be in a romantic partnership to be abused by someone. When she was asked how people can take unhealthy and toxic relationships among friends seriously, her response was, "That's a great question."

She pointed out that no matter what type of relationship someone is in, happiness needs to be there.

"If you start to dread hanging out with someone, that's a sign this might not be a happy or healthy relationship," she said.
