Rumors on the Internet suggest that Malik's fiancé Perrie Edwards pushed the singer to quit the group, and now reports are claiming that Malik is starting his own solo music career.

On Sunday, People reported that the super star was seen visiting a recording studio in West London last week and rumors have been taking over the Internet ever since.

According to the site, the singer has already started working with producer Naughty Boy and apparently he's been working with the music producer since last year.

In an interview with The Sun, Malik confirmed that he was working on new music that includes "a range of new sounds" and the singer is also doing some rapping. Malik said that while he may be working on new music, he says that he isn't in a rush to release anything.

The news about Malik's new solo career comes days after he quit the band due to reported 'stress.'

In his interview with The Sun, Malik said that he's ready to start doing his own thing and he no longer wants to let his fans down by not being authentic.

"I feel like I've let the fans down but I can't do this anymore," he said. "It's not that I've turned my back on them or anything, it's just that I just can't do that anymore because it's not the real me."
