One of the longest lasting marriages in Hollywood is coming to an end. Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman have separated.

Stan Rosenfeld, a representative for 67-year-old DeVito, told ABC News that the actor and the 64-year old actress Perlman have ended their 30 year marriage.

Together the couple have two daughters and a son: Lucy, 29, Grace, 27, and Jacob, 24.

It is unclear what the reason is behind the split or how long the couple have been separated.

DeVito and Perlman had been seen as a strong couple in Hollywood since they first got together. The couple met in 1970 and moved in together after only two weeks. They've been married since January 1982.

They have long been put in cynical roles and have starred together on the television show "Taxi" as well as dual hosts on "Saturday Night Live" in 1983.

A year after they were married People magazine interviewed the couple. Perlman commented that DeVito "was a lot more fun and a lot more sexy" than other men she'd dated. DeVito said of Perlman, "She was vibrant, with a great sense of humor, and real warm."

Perlman also stated that "you'd really have to work hard at breaking us up at this point."

According to ABC News, DeVito commented previously on the secret to a long lasting marriage: "Love. Love. I mean, really. You know what? Who knows. The secret to success is to try to never figure that out."

The couple created Jersey Films which has produced "Pulp Fiction" and "Erin Brockovich."

Perlman is most famous for her role on the classic sitcom "Cheers." DeVito can currently be seen on FX's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" which debuts its eight season on Oct. 11.
