Agents of SHIELD's Robert Gonzales isn't as deceptive as viewers may think.

On a series where even the closest of allies can become the gravest of enemies, viewers have learned to dole out their trust sparingly. Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Mac's (Henry Simmons) sudden turncoat status has the SHIELD world on edge, but it seems their new boss isn't playing the long con.

"[Can you] take his word at face value? Oh god yes," Edward James Olmos (Gonzales) said of the other SHIELD director, according to E! Online. "Are you kidding? Especially in the time that they're living in. Can you imagine if this guy wasn't really speaking from the heart? Oh my god. Then they should have gotten another actor to play it!"

Nevertheless, Gonzales is still an enemy in the eyes of Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team, or he will be once the agents learn of his existence in "On Door Closes."
