Shirin Oskooi has become of one of the more interesting and polarizing contestants on CBS's Survivor: Worlds Apart and now she is sharing her side of the story.

Through six episodes of Survivor, Shirin has become an outcast due to her quirky behavior around camp, with many players outright saying she is "annoying." The Yahoo executive spoke with Entertainment Weekly this week about some of her behavior.

One thing in particular that had people talking was when Shirin mentioned to her tribemates that she learned to slaughter a rabbit before coming on Survivor.

"Some friends of friends of mine put on a special rabbit slaughter and butchery class," Shirin explained to Entertainment Weekly. "It taught me a lot about the meat industry and the value of buying meat from a trusted source that treats animals humanely. I think it's important for people to understand how their food is acquired and prepared, particularly as a meat eater. It happened to also serve the purpose of preparing me for Survivor where we do kill to eat: Joe's lizard, Mike's snake (and scorpion), and the chickens from the reward challenge."

A self-professed superfan of Survivor, Shirin made it to the merge on Worlds Apart, something that she feels very honored to have accomplished.

"Making the merge was incredibly special for me. It's a moment, a benchmark," she said. "It means I'll get to participate in an individual immunity challenge. It means I was out there long enough to feel the physical toll of the game, which I see as a positive -- an integral part of the experience. It means new life in the game."

Last week's episode was a potential turning point for Shirin as she spoke of feeling like an outcast through her whole life. She also began to fit into her tribe more as they went on Reward. It remains to be seen if Shirin will be able to turn things around and potentially become a threat to win the game.

Survivor: Worlds Apart airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
