The Dovekeepers mini-series premiered last night, March 31, on CBS and will continue tonight, April 1, with its conclusion.
The TV special stars Cote de Pablo who is not a stranger to CBS seeing as she starred on NCIS before choosing to leave the show in 2013.
On Monday, TV Guide shared the actress' thoughts on the mini-series where she stars as Shirah as well as executive producer Roma Downey's thoughts.
Since departing from NCIS, de Pablo has stayed away from the spotlight, but The Dovekeepers pulled her back in with its compelling story.
She said she read the script by the pool of the hotel she was vacationing at in Greece and revealed, "I was on page 20, I believe, and I started having this sobbing that was coming deep within my belly. And I thought, if that's not a sign, I don't know what is.
"It was such an emotional story, and it's a story about women - strong women, that really follow their heart against what everyone else is saying, what society dictates," de Pablo dished.
She added that her character and the other two main female characters are incredibly brave.
"I have deep regard for their courage," she added.
"History has often been told through the eyes of men, and what was unique about The Dovekeepers was, the doorway into this extraordinary story is through the lives of these courageous women," Downey shared.
The Dovekeepers concludes its two-night showing tonight, April 1 at 9 p.m. ET with it running for two hours.
