Although the Real Housewives of New York City star didn't say a word about Cerussi during the couple's year-and-a-half-long relationship, she defended his honor earlier this afternoon after a report claimed he dumped her.

"Michael Cerussi is an amazing, kind man, son & friend," Frankel tweeted. "Negativity written about him was intenionally (sic) placed to hurt he & myself."

Frankel and Cerussi began dating at the end of 2013, one year after Frankel and her husband Jason Hoppy parted ways. Throughout their relationship, Frankel and Cerussi only appeared publicly on a few occasions, and steered clear of all red carpets.

Hours before Frankel's tweet was shared, Radar Online claimed Cerussi dumped her because of her role on The Real Housewives of New York City. According to the site, which cited a Life & Style article as their source, Cerussi was a partier, and didn't want to expose his wild ways on camera.

"Mac knew they’d want him on the show, and he wasn’t about to put his life out there," the source alleged. "He’s a party boy and doesn’t want everyone in America knowing who he is and what he does."
