Mary Steenburgen's character Katherine Hale lost her life during Tuesday night's episode, but the actress is thrilled to have been a part of this FX series.

On Wednesday, Yahoo! TV revealed that Steenburgen shared her scripts either always made her "laugh out loud" or "kind of" left her "stunned."

"It was always a surprise, and [Katherine] was fascinating because Southern characters, with some writers, can be very clichéd," Steenburgen added.

"I've always been aware of them as a Southern woman, and this character was so complex and definitely immoral and definitely, you know, she's got some screws loose," the actress dished.

"[My] final episode alone was so different, for me to be able to do something that physical, it was just so crazy. Jon Avnet directed, and it was just thrilling to kind of create that with him. I just think the whole thing, start to finish, has been a wonderful ride. It just kept getting better and better, and more and more fun," she revealed.

Steenburgen's character did not die by the hand of her lover Avery Markham (Sam Elliott) and the actress was happy about that.

"I was happy he didn't kill me and I didn't kill him, because I felt like what they had was very real, and there was a certain incredible honesty," she shared.

Justified is airing now on FX at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesdays.
