Justin Bieber recently sat down for an interview On Air with Ryan Seacreast on Thursday morning, and the singer is confirming some shocking secrets about his upcoming new album.

While listeners were definitely interested in learning details such as when the album will drop or who are some of the artists that will be featured on the record, the shocking surprise came when the Baby singer admitted that his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez was the inspiration behind some of his new singles.

On Thursday, Entertainment Tonight reported that the singer's rocky relationship with the Disney star has affected him emotionally, and according to the site Bieber says that he's putting a lot more of his feelings into his music.

"I think a lot of my inspiration comes from [Selena]," he told the radio show host. "It was a long relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about. There's a lot of that on this album."

During the interview, Bieber made it clear that his new songs are not a response to Gomez's heartfelt single The Heart Wants What It Wants, a love ballad that was obviously inspired by her relationship with Bieber.

The duo had been dating for four years before calling it quits last October, and their relationship still remains a huge topic of discussion.
