On Friday, The Washington Post reported that for a very brief time no Saturday, the moon is going to turn an orange-red color.

This is the third of four eclipses over a span of a few years, which is knows as a tetrad.

The phrase "blood moon" has been deemed this particular type of eclipse, but it also has some other connotations.

Some speculate that the blood moon is in some type of relationship the the coming end of the world, which would allegedly put us two blood moons away from the end.

According to the bible, there are two major blood moon references in scripture:

"The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord," - Joel 2:3, and "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord." - Acts 2:20.

While there are some who choose to believe in those passages, there are others that consults blood moon books.

One author, Gidon Ariel, explained why he thinks blood moons are worth paying attention to:

"Not only does God's name have four letters, but it was on the fourth day of creation that God created the sun and the moon, establishing them as signs to mark sacred times, such as the Festival of Passover."

The founder of El Shaddai Ministries, Mark Biltz, said that he thinks blood moons could mean a war with Israel.

"I'm just saying there's a good chance there could be a war with Israel," Biltz said. "I'm also saying there's a good chance there could be economic calamity. And I'm basing that on the Bible and patterns."

Then there are those that think if we have already had two blood moons, why are we still here?

"After the first blood moon, we've had the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, we've had the advance of ISIS, a two-month war between Israel and Gaza, the Ebola plague, the overthrow of Yemen, upheaval in the Middle East, and economic meltdowns coming. We still have over a year to go. More judgment coming anytime in 2016 as well is what these blood moons are referring to," Blitz said.
