It looks as though the old Don Draper is back - but for now, at least. In the season premiere of AMC's hit drama, Mad Men brought all its class and sass back as main characters Don Draper, Peggy Olsen, and Joan Hollaway try to find their identity in the 1970's.

'Mad Men' Season 7 Spoilers: AMC Drama Plans One Last 'Surprise' For Fans With Series Finale

The episode opened with a casting session for a new fur campaign while bringing viewers up to speed with Don's new relationship status. As many viewers will remember, his soon-to-be ex-wife Megan Draper pulled the plug on their marriage last year, leaving Don to go back to his philandering ways with a bevy of blonde women. He did also have an encounter with a dark haired waitress, who resembles a hybrid of a his two previous girlfriends, Rachel Katz - who we find out just passed away from cancer - and Midge from season 1.

Meanwhile, Joan deals is the victim of sexual harassment during a meeting with McCann Erickson executives. She and Peggy have a face off in an elevator after a degrading meeting about a pantyhose account, in which they hoped to make introductions to department-store clients, but are instead sexually harassed by the men. Later in the episode, Peggy also goes on a date with new love interest Stevie Wolcott, who she reluctantly agrees to meet for dinner.

'Mad Men' Star To Lead New Beauty Campaign

The New York Times applauded the opening episode, with blogger Logan Hill saying that Don Draper is definitely back in style, but might be a little too late for a real change.

He writes, "For the most part, everyone seems to be making the same mistakes, over and over. And if mistakes become a style, the broad ties, cheap tuxedo shirts, miasmic paisleys and mutton-chopped chauvinism of S.C. & P.'s later days are not a good look. With just six episodes left, it may be too late for a makeover."
