On Monday, Yahoo! TV posted an interview with the producer who mentioned that the series about Norman Bates' pre-Pyscho days has reached a point where he can truly see how splendid things are going.

"I think [EP] Kerry [Ehrin] and I feel like we got the show to the place we wanted it this season," Cuse said. "I think you're always struggling with a show to fire on all cylinders, and it takes so much alchemy to get everything working as you want it.

"This season really feels like we accomplished what we set out to accomplish, and the story is really compelling, and it's getting us to the place that we wanted to [be at] at the end, and it's a really great character story along the way," the producer said.

Cuse then started up a Q&A with viewers where he asked them how they would feel if the series went on for a total of five seasons with 50 episodes. As it turns out, fans were actually pretty supportive of this.

"It's gratifying to see people appreciate that decision," the producer said. "This is not an open-ended narrative. We consider 'Bates Motel' to be a story with a beginning, middle, and end, and Kerry and I want to bring the story to an end in our own terms."

Bates Motel airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on A&E.
