On Friday, CBS Minnesota shared an interview with Vonn, the professional athlete and girlfriend of golfer Tiger Woods. She mentioned that when she was younger, she had a special energy that made her really want to be a skier.

"I've always been a pretty determined person, and I've always been oddly motivated, and I was always the first one on the hill and the last one off," she said. "I don't really know why, I just always loved it."

Vonn then mentioned how there are girls with amazing talent that should be put to good use- but unfortunately, there can be a lack of motivation in there.

"A lot of times, girls at a young age...they're not really aware of their capabilities and they're not encouraged in the right way, you know, those talents can go to waste," the athlete said. "They shouldn't be struggling with self-confidence. They should believe in themselves."

All of Vonn's hard work has paid off since she won the gold medal in 2010, a moment that she defines as "the best part" of her life.

"I grew up dreaming about the Olympics, that was my dream as a child," she said. "And so having my family there was, I don't know, a very special moment of my life."
