The Norsemen spent "Paris" readying for their raid on the City of Lights and Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) army will prepare to make its move in "To the Gates!" As they spend more and more time in France, Fimmel's character will continue to deal with the murder of his closest confidant

"It's going to have a huge impact psychologically and in other ways. We don't necessarily see that immediately, but certainly when he gets to France. He becomes a slightly different, slightly darker man," series creator Michael Hirst told Zap2It. "In the immediate aftermath, he's going to mourn his friend and consequently be a lonely figure. It's a desolate thing to happen to him."
