Nashville fans might want to get excited for the guest appearance of Christina Aguilera since she'll be delivering some original tunes on the series.

What Are Avery & Juliette Going To Name Their Child On 'Nashville?'

On Wednesday, NME announced that the pop star will be performing two new songs on the ABC drama when she plays the character named Jade. The tracks are titled "The Real Thing" and "Shotgun," and they'll be released as singles on April 21.

Aguilera is expected to be on the series starting on April 15 where she will play the former fiancee of Jeff, which ought to cause some juiciness.

Is Juliette's Baby Shower Going To Be A Disaster On 'Nashville?'

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the music artist pointed out how her character strives to be a country star, but she gets caught in becoming a public figure while staying true to who she is.

"I can say that my character is a successful pop singer who desperately wants to move into the country world, as that is her true passion," Aguilera said. "But she is caught between her passion and what the label wants her to do."

She then dished on her work in the reality competition The Voice and how she is more appreciative of it every time she's there.

"By season eight, we are a well-oiled machine," the singer said. "Taking time away, I don't really watch the show and study it [to see what changes]. But what [the time away] does do is let me step away and come back with a fresh perspective on things."

Nashville airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
