Famous evangelist Billy Graham met with Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney Thursday and offered him his help for the candidacy.

Graham and Romney, a Mormon, met at the evangelist's North Carolina home for a 30-minute discussion, which was in part open to the press.

"I'll do all I can to help you. And you can quote me on that," Graham reportedly told Romney, according to an aide who attended the private meeting.

Graham said in a statement that he admires Romney's values and moral convictions.

"What impresses me even more than Governor Romney's successful career are his values and strong moral convictions," Graham said in a statement, according to the Christian Post.

Graham also prayed for Romney.

"Prayer is the most helpful thing you can do for me," Romney said, according to the Wall Street Journal.

"It was a privilege to pray with Governor Romney-for his family and our country. I will turn 94 the day after the upcoming election, and I believe America is at a crossroads. I hope millions of Americans will join me in praying for our nation and to vote for candidates who will support the biblical definition of marriage, protect the sanctity of life and defend our religious freedoms," Graham said in a statement to the press.

Graham has provided counsel to many presidents in the past and has preached to more people in live audiences than anyone else in history.
