Nida pleaded guilty to several serious fraud charges including identity theft last year. He was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Parks added that she has "handled" the ordeal "the best way that I knew how."

In a recent episode she spoke to a friend and divorce lawyer on possibly ending the marriage for good.

She hopes the way the coped the incident will "show other women when you have very hard situations you can still be a lady and maintain a sense of dignity."

Speaking of other women, Parks said that the only The Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars who have stuck by her and been there for her are Porsha Willians and NeNe Leakes.

"They have been through similar situations. Not like mine, no prison or anything like that, but they've had situations in their marriages and relationships that were very difficult that played out in public. You know, we're not the best of friends, but [NeNe] has been a wonderful friend throughout this ordeal."
