Who did AskMen.com readers vote to be the guy who most shaped  "what it means to be a man of influence in 2012" ?  Well, suprisingly enough, the No. 1 spot was not given to a real man at all, but instead a fictional one.

After a month-long voting process held on the popular site, readers chose James Bond to take home the No. 1 spot.

Men do love their gadgets, fighters and all-around tough guys, so perhaps it was not so shocking to some. However, 007 is not the only fictional character to make it on the top 10 list of the Most Influential Men in 2012.

"50 Shades of Grey" icon Christian Grey was No. 13 on the list. The Grey name has circulated on the web for some time now, especially in light of the film adaptiation that is in talks of being made and casting rumors that are attaching big names to the project. Author E. L. James gave readers a character that immediately grabbed the heart of Anastasia Steele and with his striking features, erotic behavior and intense ability to captivate all the women around him, she just could not resist to back away.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Bond film, and the new movie, "Skyfall," arrives in November. Daniel Craig currently plays the British spy. Other actors to take on the role in past films include Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton.

The rest of the top five, starting with No. 2, are Olympic champion Usain Bolt. Bill Clinton, Seth MacFarlane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

America's supposed influential man, and our country's leader, President Barack Obama, unfortunately missed the cutoff - he came in at No. 11 on the list. His competitor in the election, Mitt Romney took the No. 24 spot.

More than 500,000 readers voted on the AskMen.com poll, the site stated.
