Longmire star Cassidy Freeman recently spoke about the appeal of Netflix and how the upcoming fourth season of the show is going to feel a little different than the first three.

Freeman, who plays Cady on the Western drama, is in the process of filming the fourth season of Longmire in New Mexico. This is the series' first season with Netflix after A&E surprisingly cancelled it last year.

The actress spoke with CarterMatt this week about what filming has been like and why the new episodes will be a little "fuller" than previous seasons.

"We're currently shooting episode 3, and although that seems like it's still early, I know it goes by so quickly. Time flies when you're having fun!" she admitted. "And although the bones of this show will always be the same: great stories, strong authentic characters, culture, conflict, etc....it feels bigger now that we're on Netflix. Although the fans may not love that they have to wait a little bit longer for the season (since it all comes out at the same time early this fall), it give us more freedom and lets us craft the season as a 10 hour movie."

Freeman added that the popular streaming site company is invested in the series and is "eager" for the cast and the crew to be able to "spread our wings" with the new season.

"I think the fans will feel fuller episodes...more organic feeling stories and no commercials!" she said.

While Freeman continues to film new episodes, she is also keeping her fans updated with fun cast photos from the set. While she has not given out any outright spoilers on what to expect in the new season plot-wise, the news that the episodes feel "fuller" is certainly good news.

Longmire season 4 is expected to be released in the fall on Netflix, though the streaming site has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
