When Michael Bublé took to Instagram to share a photo that his wife took, it was his hashtags that got the most notice and the image of a girl in the background.

Before he knew it, Bublé was being accused of bodyshaming the girl who was seen in the background.

The photo shows Bublé with a smug look on his face as he stands with his arms crossed, but in the background of the photo is a woman at a desk facing away from the camera.

She is wearing an extremely short pair of shorts that show off some of her behind. And to this, Bublé captioned the pic: "There was something about this photo lu took ,that seemed worthy of instagram. #myhumps #babygotback #hungryshorts #onlyinmiami #picoftheday. #beautifulbum."

The Internet immediately lashed out accusing Bublé of bodyshaming the woman, looking at a woman other than his wife and being "part of the problem" when it comes to women being able to wear whatever they want.

After four days of comments on social networking sites, Bublé took to Facebook to explain the photo, which his wife took for him.

"Anybody who knows me would never misinterpret the message of the photo my wife took in Miami that seems to have caused unexpected rage by some people," he wrote.

He then addressed the controversy head-on.

"I do not court controversy. But I realize that a photo that was meant to be complimentary and lighthearted has turned into a questionable issue. For the record, It hurts me deeply that anyone would think that I would disrespect women or be insulting to any human being."

He then continues to talk about his true intentions in posting this image online.

"I was not brought up that way and it is not in my character. I regret that there are people out there who found the photo offensive. That was not and is not my intention," he said.

Bublé then ended his thought with a statement that seemed to take back everything he originally posted on Instagram.

"Women are to be celebrated, loved, respected, honored and revered. I've spent my life believing that and will continue to do so."
