Rumors about Megan Fox returning for Transformers 5 can be probably put to rest, as the actress had stated in an interview early on that she might be interested if her original co-star Shia LaBeouf is also on board.

Transformers 5 Sticking To 2016 Release Date?

And it seems like LaBeouf might actually not be interested, as his comments about working on the original films with Michael Bay haven't been flattering. Reports suggest that the actor "blasted" the franchise and Bay in the interview, and also poked fun at bumblebee. We could take this as an assurance that the actor might definitely not be coming back.

Now this leaves the matter of Fox. Last year in an interview with Movie Plot she suggested that she would be game if LeBeouf was also going to sign up.

What We Know So Far About Transformers 5

"I'm not sure if I'll return," she said. "As long as things are good between everyone and Shia returns with me I'd like to see us partner up with the new cast like a crossover."

If her starring in the film is conditional on LaBeouf participating, she probably won't be part of this one.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, LaBeouf, while promoting a documentary he produced, the actor spoke abtou working on the Transformers franchise.

"Bumblebee never sounds real, it's just a f-ing name. The name alone you can never make real, no matter how much you put into it, because on the other side, you have a director who doesn't believe it either," he said. "So when you work with certain directors who give over and do something that's presentational and you both believe it, then there is no f-ing around, and you really are in this alternate universe."

In another interview last year, the actor had stated that it was highly doubtful that he would return for another film in the series. Let's hope Fox reconsiders tying her decision of LaBeouf's.
