We now know that the Indominus Rex is a bigger, badder version of the T-Rex, and is derived from its DNA.

Jurassic World Already Under Fire For Being 'Sexist'?

While the association was always rumored the new trailer for the movie confirmed it, as Dr Henry Wu (B.D. Wong) informs that the Indominus was designed to be bigger than the T-Rex. This might make for another interesting plot twist in the movie. Fans have always associated the T-Rex with being the main anatgonistic force in the Jurassic movies up until now. How will the role of the former baddie be changes with the introduction of this new hell raiser?

The idea of the T-Rex joining forces with its deviant, artificially created kin, the Indominus Rex could be a possibility. But there is an important point to take into consideration, in the clip, it is revealed that the Indominus Rex is ruthless, as she ate her own sibling. It is also known that she kills -- even other dinosaurs -- for sport. In one visual in the trailer, a bunch of herbivorous dinosaurs are seen dead, strewn across the lush green plains of the park. If the Indominus Rex is intolerant of its own sibling it seems likely that it would not care much for the T-Rex either, and is only more concerned with claiming the throne to the kingdom, which formerly resided with the T-Rex.
