The sheriff, who had custody of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez during his stay at the Bristol County jail, is opening up about Hernandez's behavior behind bars, and apparently the inmate isn't scared to go the extra mile to get what he wants.

On Tuesday, Yahoo News reported that Sheriff Thomas Hodgson said that Hernandez used his charm and swagger to his advantage.

The site reported that Sheriff Hodgson described the defendant's behavior as manipulative, but says that he was generally nice and polite.

"He would make every effort to get extra sandwiches," Hodgson said. "He would just try to convince the officers to give him more than what they otherwise could get."

While some wouldn't be able to handle the circumstances surround a life sentence, Hodgson says that Hernandez will do okay.

"He'll probably do fine. He'll be able to talk his way through everything," Hodgson said when asked how Hernandez will do spending the rest of his life behind bars. "If someone's trying to outwardly and aggressively disrespect him, that could create a problem."

Sadly, Hernandez is on trial again for three separate cases, that according to CNN and it looks like his lawyers are also planning to appeal his first conviction.

Prosecutors believe that back in 2012, Hernandez fatally shot Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado when he shot into their 2003 BMW. Another passenger in the vehicle was wounded and two others were uninjured.

According to the site Hernandez is also being sued by a man named Alexander Bradley, who claims the former athlete shot him while the two men were in a limousine back in February of 2013.

Hernandez has pleased not guilty to the all of the charges against him.
