It has been revealed that the show's fourth season will be returning in 2016, but no date has been revealed yet. But judging by the premiere of the previous seasons of the Netflix political drama, we can safely assume the show would release in February, but there is the slight possibility that it might be pushed to early March.

Meanwhile, showrunner Beau Willimon and his writing team are busy working on the storyline of the next chapter. So all seems to be on track with development and filming for the next season should ideally begin in a few months from now. Willimon even tweeted about how the crew had been hard at work.

The official announcement of the show's renewal was made via the show's offical Twitter account, with a promise to not let all of Frank Underwood's (Kevins Spacey) hard (bloody) work go to waste. "I will leave a legacy. #Underwood2016" stated the caption for the image announcing the return of the show. Season 4 will be premiere in 2016, the exact date has been set yet.
