The cast of "Glee" just got a little bigger.

Singer Jessica Sanchez, runner-up on "American Idol," is set to join the cast of Fox's other hit show "Glee."

Rumors of the 17-year-old singer joining the cast have finally been put to rest as she's singed a recurring multi-episode story arc role for "Glee" season four.

Sanchez came close to winning season 11 of "American Idol," but the top honor went to Phillip Phillips.

The reality television singing competition brought Sanchez to the public's eye and caught the attention of Fox executives.

It's still unclear what Sanchez's role will be on the famous musical show, but she will most likely shine with her golden voice.

It is clear that Sanchez is excited about joining the cast as she tweeted: "@GLEEonFOX @americanidol Very very excited :)!! thank you for the opportunity!"

She continued her Twitter excitement by thanking producer and co-creator Ryan Murphy who first announced the news.

"@MrRPMurphy Thank you for everything Ryan! Can't wait to work with you!! :)."

So how do the rest of the cast feel about their new co-star?

According to ABS-SBN News, "Glee" star Jane Lynch, who plays the cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, talked about Sanchez saying: "I watched 'American Idol' the entire season last year and I was rooting for her the whole time. I think she's an amazing talent so I love that she's coming on the show."

The other big cast announcement was the addition of legendary actress and singer Bette Midler.

Murphy took to Twitter saying: "Bette said yes! Amazing. I am plotting...who should she play?"

Midler tweeted her suggestion for a guest role saying, "I have one vote for Rachel's grandmother."

The hit musical show "Glee" can be seen on Fox Thursdays at 9 p.m.
