The Amazing Race tried a new twist with their 26th season that involved setting up singles on extreme blind dates, but the twist may not have been as successful as producers had initially hoped.

Aly & Steve Dish On Their 'Unfinished Business'

According to Buddy TV, the experiment hasn't been a great success as a whole. While ratings haven't been particularly affected one way or another, the service likely wasn't successful for the couples either.

It's unclear how the producers went about selecting the pairs to couple up, with it seemingly being based on a few similarities rather than romantic preferences. Here's our breakdown on the Blind Date Teams and the likelihood that their matches were successful:

Teams Encounter The Dreaded Double U-Turn In Namibia

Bergen & Kurt

The pair (who were eliminated during the 5th leg in Germany) flat out said on the show that they knew they weren't a match and had no interest in pursuing a relationship.

Jackie & Jeff

The only couple to truly admit to their attraction to one another admitted after their leg 6 elimination in Monaco that they weren't going to pursue a relationship because they live in different time zones and have no interest in long-distance romance (Jackie is based in Las Vegas and Jeff is in Florida).

Laura & Tyler

Though the pair (who have one first place win and countless date nights under their belts) wouldn't face the issues of distance if they chose to date after the show since they're both in Southern California, and they seem to get along, but so far the relationship has seemed pretty platonic in nature.

Hayley & Blair

These two (who also have one first place finish under their belts) are also based in nearby locales, but it's hard to imagine them trying to date after the show since they've spent more time bickering than they've done anything else throughout the race.

Jenny & Jelani

These two also seem to lack real chemistry together, and don't seem to have a high chance of probably dating anytime in the future. Like Jackie and Jeff, they are also based on opposite ends of the country as well, with one of them in New York and the other in L.A.

The Amazing Race airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
