Hannibal's long hiatus will serve to ensure another season of high quality episodes.

'Hannibal' Season 3 Spoilers: Filming Wraps, 'Glorious' Finale Teased

April - the month that many expected would hold the return of NBC's resident cannibal - is fast coming to a close and, as showers turn to May flowers, series creator Bryan Fuller has opened up about the decision to push the season 3 premiere to June.

"We barely, by the skin of our teeth, were able to produce the first two seasons with a lot of hard work, and a lot of people bending over backwards and contorting, because it's so hard to do a crafted television show in eight days [per episode]," Fuller told Digital Spy, explaining that season 3 production ran into trouble when they tried to slim filming down to a seven-day schedule. "Scenes were getting dropped, shots were dropped, so in the editing room I was like, 'I can't even put this together because there's not enough material.'"
