Weller, who actually plays retired sheriff Lucian Connally in the series, stepped into the director's chair this week. He is directing episode 4 of the current fourth season of Longmire.

Cast members Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry Standing Bear) and Louanne Stephens (Ruby) posted photos on set of Weller and themselves.

"#Peter Weller directed 404/had good acting tips for me! @LongmirePosse #Longmire", Stephens tweeted alongside a photo of her and Weller.

"Boy, you both look great...surprised Lucian doesn't make a pass at Ruby!" one follower wrote in response to the photo.

Meanwhile, Phillips had plenty of praise for Weller in his photo.

"Ah, yes, walking among Giants once again! Working with the erudite and ever stylish #PeterWeller. #Longmire", Phillips tweeted in addition to a photo of him and Weller.

"Good news, he's great for the show in front or behind the camera", a follower wrote.

Another asked, "truly? Are you really working on Longmire? I hope it's true! Love this show and all of you on it!"

With production already through episode 4, they are well on their way to completing the 10-episode fourth season.

Longmire was shockingly cancelled by A&E back in August after three seasons, despite being the highest rated scripted show on the network. After a big Twitter campaign to save the show, Netflix picked it up for a fourth season in November.

Longmire season 4 is expected to be released in the fall on Netflix.
