'Hannibal' Season 3: Bryan Fuller Explains Premiere Delay, Reasons For Push To Summer

Everybody's favorite cannibal will take a trip down memory lane as "Antipasto" kicks off the summer season. Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) took his bloodstained hands and his psychiatrist confidant to Europe at the end of "Mizumono," and the premiere will presumably delve into how Dr. Lecter wound up with two one-way tickets to Europe.

"It really does feel like 'What are we watching?' Will Graham isn't in it, none of the other familiar characters are in it, it's just Hannibal and Bedelia and their history over three different periods of time," series creator Bryan Fuller explained, according to Digital Spy.

Despite having a long and complicated history with Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson), Hanni will spend the first half of the season waiting for the other shoe to drop. Let's just say the good doctor will have a little trouble trusting his travel buddy.

"I don't think that the word "trust" is a word that Hannibal uses a lot," Mikkelsen told Yahoo! TV. "I don't think he can trust anyone. I don't think anyone can trust him. I don't think it's a word that he fancies either - he doesn't mind not trusting people."
